Seoul Hash House Harriers Run 2339 – The Prune Gas Memorial Trail [Sat, 13 Feb 2016, 3pm/1500]

Prune Gas picture

Former Seoul Hasher Tom Prendergast, who was known to the Hash as ‘Prune Gas’, left the hashing world a year ago and launched  his new hashing career, together with former Seoul EM Aston Martin, on the Eternal False Trail.

They were pals for many years and will no doubt have a great time together on the ‘heavenly runs’. The Seoul Hash will honor his contribution to the SHHH over the three decades of his participation, the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s when he was working in Seoul as an executive in the pharmaceutical industry.  Altogether, he did about 15 years of hashing on the Seoul Hash and during his hashing years he was a very active participant on the committee during most of his hashing years, and in particular he will always be highly honored for his contributions in making the Seoul Hash the finest hash anywhere in the world.  Prune Gas was the ‘inventor’ of the committee hat and that contribution has long been greatly appreciated by those on the committees over the years since the introduction of said honorary head pieces.

Although Prune Gas was never a Grand Master, unfortunately, since he would have been superb, he did hold a number of committee positions during his time on the Seoul Hash. He was always very ‘generous’ with his advice to hashers, and many of us appreciated his good natured humour and sharp wit–even those of us on the receiving end of it!

Being Australian, he was a tough guy and always enjoyed a good trail, and a good beer and a good laugh after the runs. Those hashers who knew him will always miss him, and those who never met him will continue to benefit from the legacy of Seoul Hash leadership that he left behind for us to continue to enjoy.

On, on Faithful Hare Prune Gas Esq.!
